this is one of my favorite table top materials
I love this material ever since i took these pics a few months ago. Canadian soap stone has a beautiful grain pattern and it is very durable and of course stone cold. I have been thinking of an alternate coffee table top material and got a quote on it today. It's not too pricey - let me know if you would like a quote anyone.
the top freshly glued up. Using my grandpa's old bar clamps. The plank was quite wide and there will be sapwood just showing on the outside of the table. the joint is hand planed so the fit is very fine
Here is the table partially assembled. At this point we're looking for fit up issues. Glue up is always a stress time so it's best to make sure everything ready
Parsley on Bubinga. I crave green this time of year so I buy parsley and put it in a vase. It's inexpensive and tasty and last a long time if you keep it watered.
